Covering a total building area of 12,000 square meters throughout eight floors, the Xinhui Building project located in the Dongying development zone is a comprehensive space integrating office, conference, and catering. The structure is complex, and the project included architectural, design, and utility works that presented coordination and technical challenges. Having previously investigated BIM software, Shangdong Xinhui Construction Group realized that they needed an integrated digital modeling solution. 

They established an open, connected data environment and a digital twin using ProjectWise, OpenBuildings, and OpenRoads applications, integrating data and models into a single platform, accelerating information sharing and reducing costs. Using the model to perform clash detection avoided collisions among the various disciplines, optimizing the space layout. The digital twin expedites locating equipment and pipeline faults, which shortens maintenance periods and minimizes losses. Bentley’s 3D digital engineering solution for the Xinhui Building has laid the foundation for smart city construction.
