Located in the Finnish city of Seinäjoki, Aaltokeskus is a UNESCO cultural heritage site that requires protection from urban development and construction. When an educational facility was being planned in the immediate vicinity of the historical attraction, the City of Seinäjoki faced challenges achieving stakeholder approval and local resident buy-in for the project. They realized that they needed a visual, digital, and interactive solution to effectively negotiate and demonstrate plans for the construction project.
They selected OpenCities Planner to present their project to decision-makers and the public. Using Bentley’s digital urban planning application, the City of Seinäjoki presented a clear visual of their plans, enabling productive negotiations and enhancing decision-making. Through interactive 3D visualization, the construction project, despite being under such strict scrutiny, progressed smoothly.
