KTIL240 is a redevelopment project that is part of a transformation process to modernize Hong Kong’s Kwun Tong. The project features a four-story car park, an 11-story shopping facility, two 22-story commercial towers, and a well-designed, green landscape area, creating a healthy and harmonious working and living environment. A top-down construction method was adopted to reduce the construction period; however, it severely limited coordination time before commencing on-site works. The construction team needed interoperable 4D construction simulation and management technology to ensure optimal planning and execution.

They selected SYNCHRO 4D to integrate multisourced models and generate virtual construction sequencing and a logistical planning model in a flexible environment. The integrated digital platform streamlined communication and increased construction efficiencies through visual scheduling and comparison of planned versus actual construction works. Implementing a virtual design and construction process increased transparency, avoiding extra costs and injuries, and helped identify and resolve issues prior to beginning on-site works.
