The Isle of Man Ferry Terminal is a key transport project between Liverpool docks and the Isle of Man. John Sisk & Son are responsible for remediating the existing site, recording and preserving archaeological works, and constructing the new terminal and underground utility works. The island location added logistical and access challenges that could not be overcome using traditional planning techniques. To understand the complexities of the construction sequence and plan safe logistical and access routes, they needed comprehensive construction management technology.

They selected SYNCHRO 4D to link designs, site information, and all plant and temporary works with the construction program, creating a digital 4D model to visualize the construction plan and communicate any comments or changes. They identified and mitigated over 30 potential issues to ensure safe and timely delivery. The model provided clear visibility to upcoming works, eliminating numerous hours of manually marking up drawings to communicate plans, and helped improve productivity.
