A project in Masan, Gyeongsangnam, South Korea was initiated to verify the support and effect of extending micropiles through 3D numerical analysis. To perform the numerical analysis, the team at BasisSoft needed comprehensive geotechnical modeling and simulation technology.
They selected PLAXIS, verifying that the software was effective in evaluating the uplift and bearing capacity of extended micropiles. Through modeling and analysis, BasisSoft confirmed that, compared to normal micropiles, the extended ones increase compression and support.
