A JPY 3 billion project involved designing and analyzing an overseas power plant. The design needed to ensure the high-temperature and high-pressure plant piping system did not result in thermal expansion and contraction, which could damage the equipment or piping. The project team previously used time-consuming manual methods to perform the stress analysis. To accelerate the analysis time and ensure compliance with local design standards, they needed a digital application to model and automate piping design and analysis.
They selected AutoPIPE to perform thermal stress analysis in accordance with Thailand’s design code. Using the software’s piping support optimization feature, they were able to quickly create multiple design options while reducing design resource hours. The digital solution saved significant time and reduced costs.
