Ko-Mapper was tasked with developing a digital system to manage and maintain road slope surfaces. Traditional methods required on-site safety inspections and manual recording of damages. They needed a comprehensive reality modeling application to develop a digital twin and provide a real-time visual representation of the surface conditions.
They selected ContextCapture to process 3,000 aerial images captured over a five-day period and laser-scanned point clouds into a 3D reality model that includes location information and general conditions, streamlining the inspection process so that investigators can quickly gain an understanding of the slope surfaces. Using the model, they can directly enter and visualize any damages, optimizing assessment and diagnosis. The digital twin solution allows for remote quantitative and objective assessment and slope surface management by synchronizing the models with investigators’ mobile devices.
