Wofo Temple is a cultural scenic spot built within a natural grotto on the side of a 100-meter-high cliff. The temple buildings are in the shape of a three-level platform along the mountain and are enshrined with religious statues and holy relics. To protect the historical site, the team at Shanghai Kanrong Information Technology wanted to generate a reality mesh; however, they lacked GPS access in the cave and faced challenges given the dim light and stark contrast in brightness, both internally and externally.

After considering their options, Shanghai Kanrong Information Technology selected ContextCapture for data processing and modeling the complex terrain and structures. The solution enabled successful digital archiving of the temple structures and cultural relics that will facilitate later repairs.
