A Belgian project involved mapping the city of Turnhout to install fiber-to-the-home (FttH) network cables. Beexact is working with the building contractor and needed to collect the data using their own mobile mapping systems. They faced challenges managing the large number of addresses, trenches, and pavements to construct the FttH networks. Therefore, they needed a flexible mapping application to manage, analyze, and share the massive amount of data.

Beexact selected Orbit 3DM to integrate with their engineering FttH software and generate highly detailed design images with accurate GPS information. Using Bentley’s application, they improved productivity by 100 times, processing hundreds of thousands of addresses annually, compared to a few thousand using prior methods. The 3D mobile mapping solution reduced the price per address by 40%.
