A project in Shanghai involved surveying five areas of the Xiong’an New District, including the Rongdong Waterworks and Xiong’an high-speed railway station. The data capture area extended 50 meters from the roadway sidelines and 50 meters from the utility and rail station. It covered a total area of 14 square kilometers, spanning four types of terrain, including vegetation, fields, construction sites, and urban areas. The large east-west span and diverse surveying environments presented data capture and modeling challenges requiring advanced reality modeling technology.
The project team at Shanghai Kanrong Information Technology selected ContextCapture due to its reliability and 3D data processing capabilities. Using the software, they improved data processing efficiency of the oblique photography into an accurate 3D reality mesh. The model enables monitoring of the roadway network operations to help plan for and meet future transportation demands.
