SANEPAR is responsible for providing basic sanitation services to 345 cities in Paraná. Their mission is to guarantee sustainable and innovative environmental sanitation services, contributing to economic and social development. They recently implemented a BRL 1.867 million BIM methodology pilot project to expand the sewage system in Rolândia, a municipality in northern Paraná with 66,580 inhabitants and a population density of about 126 inhabitants per square kilometer.
SANEPAR chose Bentley applications to help them deliver the pilot project, using OpenFlows SewerGEMS for sizing the collection network, collectors, and interceptors. With OpenPlant, OpenBuildings, and MicroStation, they combined a BIM methodology and comprehensive digital models into a digital twin. The digital twin allowed them to minimize errors and user impact while providing a wider range of design alternatives to optimize the design. By allowing participants to get real-time information, they have streamlined decision-making for a smother project workflow.
