To improve the efficiency of supply chain management of domestic and international trade over air, water, rail, and roadways, the government of India sought to develop 28 multimodal logistics parks across the country. Voyants Solutions was selected to design the water system for the park in Jogighopa. Because of the undulating terrain, they needed to create digital models and perform hydraulic analyses, but they soon discovered that their first choice of software was complex to use and time consuming.
Voyants Solutions determined that they could simplify the modeling and analysis process with OpenFlows WaterGEMS and STAAD. When modeling the water distribution system, they could automatically rework the system and consider any changes in the design. Strong visualization of analysis results helped them select design options that would minimize the cost of operations and maintenance. They determined how to make the most accurate, economical system possible while reducing design time by 30% or by one month.
